INFORMATION: Admission is free. Since the 6th century, the Bon Festival has been a traditional celebration paying respect to family members who have passed away. Now the Bon have evolved into a celebration of reunion and togetherness. With this thought in mind, it is fitting that we bring our new community together, young and old people from all cultures.
The aim of Bon Fest Pensacola is to bring people of all nationalities together to build friendships through increased understanding of, and participation in, Japanese culture. Among the activities, we plan dancing, drumming, listening to music and sharing our culinary heritage. The event will circulate around a traditional elevated platform, “yagura†decorated with Japanese ornaments.
