Pensacola’s Expanding Legal Sector

This year, we have seen three new firms expand into Pensacola, with the help of familiar faces. In our May 8 issue, we created a special advertorial section to highlight how each practice is distinct.

Fasig | Brooks

Fasig | Brooks has established a new Pensacola office, managed by veteran local attorney Eric Stevenson. This expansion represents a strategic move for the firm and a homecoming for managing partner Dana Brooks, a Pensacola native who graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.

Stevenson, known locally for his involvement with Inweekly investigations and what he describes as “David-vs.-Goliath causes,” brings his established practice and community connections to the firm. He emphasizes their willingness to take cases others might decline and providing excellent customer service regardless of case size.

The firm prides itself on accessibility and communication, with Brooks noting that every client gets attorneys’ cell phone numbers and receives regular updates through emails and videos explaining each stage of their case. Their client-centered approach focuses on understanding how injuries impact clients’ entire lives, particularly addressing immediate concerns like vehicle repairs that affect employment and housing stability.

Fasig | Brooks has existing offices in Tallahassee, Jacksonville, and Destin, with the Pensacola office located at 815 S. Palafox St. (850-777-7777).

GrayRobinson

Statewide legal-lobbying firm GrayRobinson, led by former Florida House Speaker Dean Cannon, has expanded to Northwest Florida, marking the realization of the firm’s long-held goal of serving the Pensacola region. The expansion brings three prominent local attorneys—John Adams, Joe Passeretti, and Robert Jones—into the firm.

For these attorneys, joining GrayRobinson offered the perfect combination of maintaining their deep community connections while gaining access to extensive statewide resources. Adams highlighted the depth of legal expertise now at their disposal, while Passeretti, board-certified in Construction Law, noted how valuable the firm’s statewide presence is for clients who operate throughout Florida.

GrayRobinson operates with the motto “thriving where opportunity and risk converge,” focusing on problem-solving at “the intersection of business, law and politics.” What distinguishes the firm is its significant government affairs practice, combining legal expertise with lobbying capabilities that allows them not only to navigate existing laws but also advocate for legal reforms.

GrayRobinson’s Pensacola office is located at 601 South Palafox St. (448-239-6060)

Rafferty Domnick Cunningham & Yaffa

Trial attorney Troy Rafferty has joined Fred Cunningham, Sean Domnick, and Greg Yaffa to form Rafferty Domnick Cunningham & Yaffa (RDCY). This move follows significant personal and professional changes for Rafferty, 55, including the deaths of colleagues Fred Levin, Leo Thomas, and a family member.

Rafferty chose RDCY after considering multiple offers, citing his 20-year friendship with Fred Cunningham and professional respect for the team. The decision was solidified by an unexpected call from a former client encouraging him to continue his advocacy work.

Rafferty is focusing on mass tort litigation at RDCY, including cases involving Depo-Provera contraceptive injections and national insulin overpricing litigation, where he has been appointed co-lead counsel. The firm emphasizes client focus over commercialization, following Fred Levin’s motto: “Don’t concentrate on the money; concentrate on the client, and the money will follow.”

The newly expanded firm comprises approximately 13 attorneys and 35 total staff members across two locations – Palm Beach Gardens and the recently opened Pensacola office at 815 S. Palafox St. (850-208-0830).
