Yesterday, I asked County Attorney Alison Rogers for an update on the public beach easements on Perdido Key. She said the public beach easement for the 64 lots that Commissioner Jeff Bergosh uncovered with the staff’s help appears to be valid, which covers east of the state park to Perdido Sun.
Finding the original deeds for the lots west of the state park has been more difficult. The county has asked a title company to provide the title abstracts for those beach parcels. An abstract provides a timeline of everything that has happened with the title of a property from the time it was first recorded as owned to the present day.
Rogers was told the search would take a week so she expects to receive it soon. Stay tuned.
