Phantom jobs

WUWF radio interviewed State Sen. Don Gaetz this morning on how the legislature will balance the budget this year. Gaetz talked about phantom jobs – jobs that are in the budget, but not filled. He believes that there are millions in savings if they eliminate those positions.

The Pensacola City Council may want to look at that, too. Today they are reviewing the 2010-2011 funding to outside agencies. They may find a few extra dollars for these non-profits if they ask staff for list of unfilled staff positions.
