Physician arrested in sex predator investigation

Jail Bars
On Thursday Jan. 2, deputies arrested Brian Mitchell Lee, 43, of Pensacola, for traveling to meet a juvenile for sex and using a 2-way device to facilitate a felony.

In December of 2013, an Escambia County Computer Crimes Investigator began communicating online with an individual who was soliciting young males on the Internet for sex. The Investigator was posing online as a fourteen year-old boy. During these communications the subject solicited the Investigator for this purpose and suggested they meet for sex.

On January 2, the subject attempted to meet the “fourteen year-old” at a location in Escambia County. Once he arrived he was taken into custody by members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, comprised in part by Investigators from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Pensacola Police Detectives, and Special Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

When the subject was taken into custody he was identified as Dr. Brian Lee, a local family medical practitioner and owner of Perdido Bay Family Care. While Investigators could not go into specifics of the communications, they did find the chats concerning, as they were relating to particularly young patients. This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any concerns regarding Dr. Lee is encouraged to call Inv. Zack Ward at 436-9580.

This arrest is another in a long string of recent arrests by the local affiliate of the national Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, whose goal is to protect children from online predators.

Lee was given no bond and assigned a Circuit Court date of January 23, 2014.
