PNJ reports Touart wants better pension

Three days have you read it here on the blog, Pensacola News Journal reports Touart fighting for his pension.

The county commissioners didn’t take the bait and did nothing about Patterson’s letter. It’s apparent former County Administrator George Touart doesn’t have enough support on the BOCC to get his employment/unemployment even discussed in a meeting.

Touart is left with suing the county to get the better state pension. And here is the problem I have with the PNJ article – the BOCC isn’t keeping Touart from his retirement checks. The hometown administrator is fully vested in the Florida Retirement System’s investment plan. However, he needs five years of county employment to be allowed to which over to more lucrative pension plan.

It’s about how Touart can get a bigger retirement check for his five years as county administrator.
