Podcast: Broxson picks up another endorsement and defends record

State Rep. Doug Broxson picked up the endorsement of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), a national construction industry trade association that represents nearly 21,000 corporate members. Broxson is seeking the District 1 seat in the Florida Senate.

“With Doug’s experience in Tallahassee as a representative and his effectiveness as a legislator, we believe he is the most qualified n the race,” said Gary Stout, Immediate Past Chairman of ABC of Florida.

ABC represents every segment of commercial construction from general contractors to subcontractors and suppliers. The association promotes lower taxes, free enterprise, reasonable regulation, and is the largest provider in Florida for training in the industry.

Yesterday on “Pensacola Speaks,” Broxson defended his voting record that has been under attack by his opponent Rep. Mike Hill. He also said that he has picked up the endorsements of Gov. Rick Scott and the NRA.

Apparently the Hill’s strategy was to attack Broxson aggressively, hope to get a lead in the polls, and use the lead to solicit campaign funds. According to Peter Schorsch for Florida Politics, the negative ads did tighten the race putting in the “too close to call” category. The question is can Hill raise enough to maintain the attacks on his fellow lawmaker while having to deal with the counterpunches from Broxson – who has four times the money on his campaign account.
