Elrico Tunstall, the brainchild behind the pulse-pounding drama, “Sacred,” has been working 11 years to make this dream become a reality. Filmed exclusively in Pensacola, the fictional storyline chronicles the lives of the Brooks family, a savvy group of doctors who own and operate a hospital. Their lives are filled with mystery and intrigue, so secrets abound!
A movie introducing the series premiered locally in November. The production was greenlit for a six-part drama to be streamed on NBC Peacock in 2023. Tunstall admits there were many options on the table. He was courted by Netflix, HBO Max and BET but turned them down because he didn’t want to move production elsewhere.
“I wanted my actors to be able to roll out of bed and come to work, returning to their families at the end of the day,” Tunstall said. “This production is going to benefit the area as a whole, while also shining a positive light on what Pensacola has to offer.”
A casting call for the six-part series will be held on Saturday, January 7 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Cobb Center, 601 East Mallory Street.
On WCOA this morning, Tunstall discussed the part he is casting.
“I actually have one lead role that I need to fill as well as some nursing roles and other supporting role actors,” Tunstall said. “There’s no age limit because we’re going be using, um, kids because we’ll be shooting at a school. It’s truly an open call.”
He asked those audition to bring have prepared two-minute monologue, resume and headshot.
“The biggest thing is to bring is a two-minute dramatic monologue,” he said. “It could be less than two minutes, but do not go over two minute.”
Tunstall added, “Bring your headshot and bring a resume. And even if your resume has nothing on it, at least have your weight, your height and some of the things that like hobbies, abilities and talents, such as speak a different dialect.”
