Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves talks about the recent arrests in the antisemitic vandalism case, building American Magic HQ and his first budget.

Antisemitism:

“At the end of the day, something as calculated as these several instances of this happening, that’s not kids being kids,” said the mayor. “This is something that, in my opinion, needs to be taken seriously. A message needs to be said that we’re not gonna tolerate it.”

American Magic:

“The third grant ($2.9 million) was welcomed news because we can move along faster than we thought to finish it out,” said Mayor D.C. Reeves. “The important point for this particular grant is that it is for the dock and ramp facility that will not only allow American Magic right outside their building to put their boats in the water, but it also will allow us to start having the catalytic impact we want it to have, which is they can host junior tournaments from all over the world.”

MrBeast Burger

On Monday, a “ghost kitchen” company called Virtual Dining Concepts sued one of the biggest entertainers on the internet for $100 million dollars.

Jimmy Donaldson, better known online as “Mr. Beast,” is the most popular creator on YouTube, boasting more than 174 million subscribers (plus 38.6 million on Instagram and 21.6 million on Twitter). In 2020, Donaldson launched the MrBeast Burger – a line of fast food products sold through apps like DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats (there is also a physical location in New Jersey). Last week, Donaldson sued VDC for breach of contract – saying the company delivered “disgusting, revolting and inedible” to customers.

ABC’s Mike Dobuski has the details. Lister here.

Pensacola Beach Traffic Sets Record

Escambia County Commissioner Robert Bender talks about it and last week’s board meeting. “On Friday and Saturday, we had over 20,000-car days, which were our 36th and 37th 20,000-car days. Last year, we had 20 such days.” Listen here.
