Poet Laureate inducted on Saturday

Jamey Jones, a fifth generation Pensacolian, has been named the new Poet Laureate of Northwest Florida by the West Florida Literary Federation. Jones, 50, will be formally inducted at a free public event at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, October 11, at The Studio at K Street, 405 K. Street.

The celebration will include the induction of the newly appointed poet laureate, readings by the new poet laureate and past poets laureate, including outgoing Julie DeMarko (2009) and Leonard Temme (1989), and a reception and book-signing. The general public and all WFLF members are invited to meet the poet laureate and mingle with fellow community members, writers, and leaders.
