Poll: Romney wins Florida


The Aug. 18-22 Sachs/Mason-Dixon poll has President Barack Obama trailing Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, 51 percent to 43 percent, and Texas Gov. Rick Perry 46 percent to 45 percent. Obama narrowly edges Minn. Congressman Michelle Bachmann 46 percent to 44 percent, the poll found.

Among likely Republican primary voters in Florida, Romney leads:

• Romney, 28 percent.

• Perry, 21 percent.

• Bachmann, 13 percent.

• Businessman Herman Cain, 7 percent.

• Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, 5 percent.

• Texas U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, 4 percent.

• Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum , 2 percent.
