Poll: Williams urging past Elder in School Board District 3 race

According to an Inweekly/Political Matrix poll of 370 likely District 3 voters, Larry Williams Sr. is leading Laura Edler in the Escambia County School Board run-off to be held in November.

Edler led in the Aug. 28 primary with 40.8 percent of the vote, a ten-point lead over Williams 30.9 percent. However, Williams has surged 15 points past Edler over the three weeks since the primary. According to the poll, he has 28.1 percent with Edler capturing 23 percent leaving nearly 49 percent uncertain.

METHODOLOGY:

The persons sampled were likely district 3 voters of the primary and general election cycles. They were called using an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system during the hours of 2-8 p.m. Sept15-17. The phone numbers called were provided by Escambia Supervisor of Elections Office. The Margin of Error for this study is +/- 4.5 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent.
