Primary wins show voters believe Romney most electable

With his wins in Michigan and Arizona, Mitt Romney proved money counts. Using his huge campaign war chest, the former governor from Massachusetts blasted upstart Rick Santorum with ads in the days leading up to the votes. Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul were left on the sidelines begging for attention.

AP reports Romney carried in Arizona and Michigan those voters worried about the economy and federal deficit and those seeking the most electable candidate, according to exit polls.

If Romney eventually wins the GOP nomination, who he picks as his running mate is critical. His VP pick must appeal to Christian Right if he is to have any chance in the general election.
