Pritchard pension fund runs dry

New York Times reports Pritchard, Ala. was warned for years that if it did nothing, its pension fund would run out of money by 2009. Right on schedule, its fund ran dry and pension checks stopped flowing….must not of had a natural gas utility to fund the shortfalls.

#13 on Mayor-elect Ashton Hayward’s 20/20 Plan: “Evaluate the city pension plan so we can continue the current level of essential services that we all expect for
policing, firefighting, emergency response, garbage pickup, etc.”

It’s 17 days ’til Hayward is sworn in.
