Protecting Florida’s Coast

Protecting Florida’s Coast is an evening of documentary films and discussion about the latest plans for offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico and the threat to Florida’s coast and beaches. The event will be 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Waterboyz, 380 N. Ninth Ave.

The four short films highlight grassroots movements around drilling, impacts from the 2010 BP oil disaster and the revolution in clean energy from the sun and wind.

Following the films, local environmental advocates from Surfrider Emerald Coast, 350 Pensacola and Healthy Gulf will lead a discussion about how citizens can get engaged around the latest plans for drilling in the Gulf. An event page with more information is available on the Healthy Gulf Facebook page here.
