Press release: Warm up your January with a bowl of steaming soup at the ninth annual Fill a Bowl for Manna event from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Jean and Paul Amos Performance Studio, WSRE-TV, at Pensacola State College, 1000 College Blvd.

Come, make a selection from an array of colorful, hand-made bowls by area artists and PSC Visual Arts faculty and students. Then, fill your bowl with soups prepared by some of the most popular chefs on the Gulf Coast, and help MANNA Food Pantries fill the empty bowls of more than 20,000 people in Northwest Florida.

The $30 entry fee includes your one-of-a-kind bowl with additional bowls available for $30 each. Proceeds benefit MANNA directly by providing food for the hungry.

Sponsors include Pensacola State College, PSC Visual Arts Department, Gulf Power Company, Tylavsky & Lombardo Investment Group, MANNA, local artists and local vendors.

Reservations are requested, but walk-ins are welcome. Guests with advance tickets will enter first.

For tickets, go to www.mannafoodpantries.org, or mail checks to Manna, 116 E. Gonzalez Street, Pensacola, FL 32501.

Established in 1983, Manna is a non-profit organization that fights hunger in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, serving more than 20,000 people annually.
