Press release: Pensacola State College’s Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse program is ranked 17th nationally in the Top 25 Schools for Nursing Specialties by Nursing School Hub.
Among the institutions in the ranking are Duke University, Johns Hopkins University, Vanderbilt University, Columbia University, Georgetown University and the University of Southern California.
According to NursingSchoolHub.com, the ranking shows “schools that have superb programs in some of the top nursing specialties employers are seeking.†The list includes the fastest growing, most in demand and in some cases, newer specialties in the nursing field.
“Our nursing programs have been at the forefront in meeting the needs of our medical community for more than 55 years,†said PSC President Edward Meadows. “It is gratifying to receive this national ranking that further points to the exceptional quality of our nursing programs.â€
The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse program is called Critical Care Nursing at PSC and is an advanced technical certificate program designed for the licensed registered nurse who seeks specialized training and experience in critical care.
“By offering post advanced technical certificates, PSC’s Nursing Department is able to support our philosophy of lifelong learning while providing the community with licensed nurses that are proficient in delivering critical care to those in need,†said Dusti Sluder, PSC Director of Nursing.
