PSC student intern on Capitol Hall

Former Pensacola State College Student Government President Kaitlin Santiago has been selected as an intern for Florida House on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. The eight-week program allows Florida college students to experience the workings of the federal government and get an up close look at how Florida House welcomes Floridians visiting the nation’s capital, whether on vacation or business.

Santiago is obtaining her Associates in Arts degree from Pensacola State College and will transfer to a university for the Fall of 2017 where she will double major in Philosophy and Government. She is currently the State Student Government President of the Florida College System and is a college engagement liaison for the Women March on Washington, helping to recruit interested students in the state of Florida to attend the March in Washington.

In her role as an intern, Kaitlin will take Floridians on a tour of Florida House, explaining the history and collections. She will help set up events and work with the different organizations that visit the House, as well as help complete administrative tasks. She will be working in Congressman Matt Gaetz’s office one day a week during her internship.
