Public Town Hall Meeting: Oil Spill Legal Guidance

On Wednesday, June 30, the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and WSRE will host a public town hall meeting focused on providing legal guidance in the oil spill claims process. The meeting will be held at the WSRE Amos Performance Studio from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and is free and open to the public.

A recent survey of Pensacola Chamber membership revealed that more than 50% of respondents have realized a minor negative impact from the oil crisis while 28% have realized a major negative impact on their business. 90% of those that responded as having sustained some type of impact on their business have not yet filed a claim with BP.

A five-member panel of local attorneys will speak on predetermined topics related to the oil spill, focused on providing legal guidance on a variety of topics including the claims process, class action suits, multi-district litigation, how to document and track losses, potential claimants and more. After the informational session, attendees will have the opportunity to ask the legal panel questions. This event is an informational session only and is not intended to promote or otherwise suggest legal action.

The town hall meeting will be taped to air on WSRE Thursday, July 1 at 7 p.m..
