From Marty Donovan: “It’s a shame that people have become so apathetic, or they have just given up on local government.”
In other words, if you don’t agree with Marty, you are apathetic. He just doesn’t get people want the park. He didn’t win the 2006 referendum. He didn’t win re-election. He couldn’t get people to sign his petition no matter how big his lies were. The voters gave up on him when he quit representing them and instead tried to use them for his twisted purposes.
His district was the biggest supporter of the Community Maritime Park, but he knew better and continued to oppose it. Therefore, he lost re-election.
Marty tried to use this process to once again punish his enemies. The voters are smarter than he gives them credit.
