Races On

Candidates eyeing this year’s election season had until noon today to file and qualify. The Escambia County Supervisor of Elections office released a finalized list of candidates a couple of hours ago.
The races line up as follows:

Public Defender 1st Judicial Circuit (partisan office): Republican Bruce Miller qualified on April 16. Republican James Owens met the petition requirement and qualified April 17.

State Senator, District 2 (partisan office): Greg Evers, a Republican, met the petition requirement and qualified June 4. Write-in candidate Joshua Hartigan also qualified June 4.

State Representative, District 1 (partisan office): Republican Clay Ingram qualified June 4.

State Representative, District 2 (partisan office): Republican Jeremy Bosso qualified June 4. Clay Ford, also a Republican, qualified June 4.

Circuit Judge, Group 1 (nonpartisan office): John Jay Gontarek qualified April 16.

Circuit Judge, Group 6 (nonpartisan office): David Rimmer qualified April 16.

Circuit Judge, Group 7 (nonpartisan office): Marci Levin Goodman qualified April 16.

Circuit Judge, Group 9 (nonpartisan office): Kelvin Clyde Wells qualified April 16.

Circuit Judge, Group 13 (nonpartisan office): Mary Polson qualified April 17.

Circuit Judge, Group 14 (nonpartisan office): Linda Nobles qualified April 16.

Circuit Judge, Group 15 (nonpartisan office): Terry Ketchel qualified April 16. Thomas Murphy qualified April 16.

Circuit Judge Group 18 (nonpartisan office):  John Miller qualified April 16.

Circuit Judge, Group 23 (nonpartisan office): Gary Bergosh qualified April 16.

Circuit Judge, Group 24 (nonpartisan office): Ross Goodman qualified April 16.

Clerk of the Circuit Court (partisan office):  Republican Pam Childers qualified June 4. Republican Ernie Lee Magaha qualified June 4. Write-in candidate Henry John Misiak qualified June 5.

Sheriff (partisan office):  David Morgan, a Republican, qualified June 4. John Russell Powell, a Republican, qualified June 4. Write-in candidate Mindy Lynn Pare qualified June 5.

Property Appraiser (partisan office):  Republican Charles Green IV qualified June 8. Democrat Chris Jones met the petition requirement and qualified June 4.

Tax Collector (partisan office):  Republican Mike Whitehead met the petition requirement and qualified June 4. Democrat Janet Holley qualified June 4.

Superintendent of Schools (partisan office):  Malcolm Thomas, a Republican, met the petition requirement and qualified June 4. Democrat Claudia Brown-Curry met the petition requirement and qualified June 6.

Supervisor o Elections (partisan office):  Republican David Stafford met the petition requirement and qualified June 4.

County Commissioner, District 1 (partisan office):  Republican Jesse Casey met the petition requirement and qualified June 4. Wilson Robertson, a Republican, met the petition requirement and qualified June 4. Bobby Spencer, no party affiliation, met the petition requirement and qualified June 4.

County Commissioner, District 3 (partisan office):  Republican Tiffany Washington met the petition requirement and qualified June 4. Democrat Lumon May met the petition requirement and qualified June 6. Democrat Clinton Earl Powell, Sr., met the petition requirement and qualified June 7. Democrat Annie Thomas Walker met the petition requirement and qualified June 6.  John Johnson, no party affiliation, met the petition requirement and qualified June 4.  Hugh King, Sr., no party affiliation, met the petition requirement and qualified June 8.  Derek Stromas, a write-in candidate, qualified June 8.

ECUA, District 1 (partisan office):  Republican Vicki Campbell met the petition requirement and qualified June 5.  Republican Logan Fink qualified June 7.  Tom Brame, no party affiliation, qualified June 7.  Elizabeth Susan Campbell, no party affiliation, qualified June 7.  James Michael Kirkland, no party affiliation, qualified June 8.

ECUA, District 3 (partisan office):  Democrat Calvin Avant met the petition requirement and qualified June 4.  Democrat Benell English met the petition requirement and qualified June 8.  Democrat Elvin McCorvey qualified June 8.  Democrat Clorissti Mitchell met the petition requirement and qualified June 5.
