Five Flags Speedway will host the Fifty-Eighth Annual Snowball Derby presented by Flo Sports from Wednesday, December 3rd through Sunday, December 7th, bringing together the most elite field of drivers in the event’s storied history.
This year’s entry list reads like a who’s who of American motorsports. Two-time Derby champion Erik Jones will return to defend the trophy he’s captured twice before, bringing his NASCAR Cup Series pedigree back to his short track roots. He’ll face stiff competition from fellow Cup Series competitors Noah Gragson and Ryan Preece, both hungry to add the prestigious Snowball Derby trophy to their racing resumes.
But NASCAR stars aren’t the only threat. Two-time Derby winner Ty Majeski has proven he knows how to conquer the 300-lap marathon. Short track legend Bubba Pollard brings decades of experience and countless victories to the fight. Fan-favorite Steven Nasse and Canadian ace Cole Butcher round out a field that represents the absolute pinnacle of short track competition.
“The Snowball Derby is more than just a race; it’s a tradition that draws the best of the best to Pensacola every year,” said Tim Bryant, General Manager of Five Flags Speedway. “This year’s schedule is packed with the action fans expect, culminating in Sunday’s historic 300-lap feature. We invite everyone to join us for a race week filled with excitement!”
For Pensacola, Derby week means an economic boost as racing fans from across the country descend on the Gulf Coast. Hotels fill up, restaurants buzz with racing talk, and Five Flags Speedway becomes the epicenter of short track racing discussion. The event has become as much a part of Pensacola’s December tradition as holiday lights and beachside bonfires.
