This March, ReadyKids! is thrilled to announce the kick off of National Reading Month with the official proclamation and celebration of Read Across Pensacola Day. Every year on March 2, the National Education Association celebrates Read Across America Day, the nation’s largest celebration of reading. The year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources that are about everyone, for everyone.
Pensacola is joining the celebration and the community is invited. City of Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves will issue an official proclamation on Thursday, March 2, at 5pm at Seville Quarter with a celebratory gathering to follow. Children’s books and digital resources will be available for families so that the joy of reading and building literacy skills can continue at home.
