Pensacola International Airport Director Matt Coughlin discusses that over this past weekend, the airport TSA screened around 28,000 passengers and saw a total of 57,000 passengers. Despite the high volume, the process was relatively seamless with a maximum wait time of 32 minutes.

The airport will add more surface parking. The Tippen Avenue project currently out for bid. The aim is to complete the project before the holidays. Finally, Coughlin mentioned a groundbreaking event for ST Engineering’s third hangar next Tuesday.

Escambia County Administrator Wes Moreno discussed various topics including the upcoming hot summer, the start of the hurricane season, and the ongoing projects in the county. He praised the staff for their hard work, especially in managing the grant money and the associated workload.

He also mentioned the appointment of Nikki Powell as the full-time HR director, highlighting her experience and vision for the department. Marino discussed the county’s budget, which is expected to be around $770 million this year, and the ongoing work at the landfill and the jail.

He concluded by expressing readiness for the hurricane season and the ongoing efforts to manage the county’s resources effectively.
