Mark Zubaly, the architect behind the “blackface” mailer, had to pay $50,000 to settle a defamation lawsuit in Santa Rosa County. Attorney Alex Andrade has the details.
Quote: “We’re still in active litigation with the folks who paid for and directed that mailer, but really the impetus and the design and everything was Zubaly’s responsibility. He didn’t seem to care very much about the effect it would have on Kerry (Smith) or his family.”
Sheriff Chip Simmons is the first Escambia County sheriff in over a century that wasn’t challenged in his first re-election bid. He also discusses who he has endorsed in the Aug. 20 primary.
