Real News: Community Engagement Awards, Early Voting, Argo Football

Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons discussed his foundation’s third annual Community Engagement Awards and his expectations for upcoming budget negotiations for the next fiscal year. The sheriff and Board of County Commissioners are in the last year of a three-year budget agreement.

“Starting in spring, we’ll talk about whether will go single-year (budget) or maybe we can do a multi-year deal,” Sheriff Simmons said. “It helps; it benefits the sheriff’s office for planning, and I believe it benefits the county for planning as well.”

Supervisor of Elections Robert Bender discusses vote-by-mail and early voting, which starts next Monday.

The UWF Argo football has a two-game winning streak. Will Kennedy reviews the victory over conference rival Delta State last weekend and shares who we face next.
