The City of Pensacola Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) will host another round of community workshops starting Tuesday, Oct. 1 through Thursday, Oct. 3, to update its three community redevelopment plans. The plans are meant to outline future community improvements and be used as the basis for obtaining funding for specific projects.

The CRA, along with its consulting team, UDA, will host a series of open houses and present preliminary ideas to the community.

  • Open House | Tuesday, Oct. 1: 6-7:30 p.m., Pensacola Library, 239 N. Spring St.
  • Open House | Wednesday, Oct. 2: Noon-1:30 p.m., Pensacola Library, 239 N. Spring St.
  • Community Presentation and Meeting | Thursday, Oct. 3 – 6-7:30 p.m., Sanders Beach-Corrine Jones Resource Center, 913 S. I St.

During the open house events, the public is invited to see early sketches and concepts of the catalytic sites, streets and parks while providing input and feedback. These events are an opportunity for community members to see their ideas come to life. Refreshments will be served, and Spanish translation will be provided. Children are welcome and encouraged to participate.

At the community presentation meeting, CRA and UDA teams will present the ideas explored during the open house events to the public in a 30–40-minute presentation. The presentation will be followed by an open house, allowing participants to ask questions to city staff and the UDA team and provide additional feedback on preferred ideas. Refreshments will be served, and children are welcome to participate.

The community redevelopment plans for the Eastside, Westside, and Urban Core CRA Districts were completed in 2004, 2007, and 2010.
