Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida CEO Paula Shell talks the Big Brother and Big Sister honorees for 2023.

Letter carriers in the two-county area collected 191,261 pounds of food – enough to provide the equivalent of 220,333 healthy meals to neighbors in need! This is the most successful National Association of Letter Carriers’ (NALC) Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive for Escambia and Santa Rosa counties in more than a decade. Manna executive director Dede Flounlacker discusses its impact.

Escambia County consistently ranks near the bottom of the state in kindergarten readiness rates. The odds of those rates improving anytime soon appear remote, considering the shortage of slots available for children at early learning centers. ECT executive director Tammy Greer discusses the early learning crisis.

Earth Ethics is hosting viewing of “Plastic Wars” at 6 p.m. on Monday., June 12, at Ever’man Education Center, 327 W Garden Street, to kick off this year’s Plastic Free Campaign.
