County Commissioner Steven Barry said that he expects tomorrow the board will acknowledge the $33 million letter of intent from D.R. Horton for OLF-8 and vote to have staff begin work on a definitive agreement. He said, “I think that’s where a lot of the details would be conceivably hashed out. A letter of intent really is a one-party submittal. And a definitive agreement between two parties is gonna be,be where there’s a lot of negotiation.”
Those negotiations will include how D.R. Horton will implement the OLF-8 Master Plan and honor the Triumph Gulf Coast grant.

The Pensacola and Perdido Bays Estuary Program is hosting a Mardi Gras Bead Tree Cleanup 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Sunday, Feb.y 19. Volunteers will help remove Mardi Gras beads from the trees along Palafox and Garden streets after the downtown parade. The collected beads will be brought to Arc Gateway to be cleaned and repackaged for future use.
