Real News podcast: Ginger Bowden Madden

On Tuesday, I interviewed State Attorney Ginger Bowden Madden, the youngest daughter of Bobby and Ann Bowden’s six children. We talked about what it was like growing up in the Bowden family.

“Well, I think one of the most challenging aspects was for my mother,” she shared. “Anyone who’s been around coaching knows that coaches are on the go 24/7. You go from football season to recruiting season to booster tours to spring ball to summer conditioning to back to August again. So, dad was gone a lot, it was very challenging for mother.”

She continued, “When we were young, daddy wasn’t Bobby Bowden. Daddy was head football coach for the Mountaineers. We didn’t have a lot of money. Mom was raising the six of us. We divided up the chores and it was a very busy household, but very loving household. We were all involved in a lot activities. We were allowed to have fun. And yet, we were taught how to work hard too. So it was great. It was a good life.”
