Real Sports Talk Radio comes to Pensacola

Press Release: that 1450AM (WBSR) is now the new home of ESPN Radio, as 1450 ESPN. The station is Pensacola’s only 24/7 all-sports radio facility, and features programming from world sports leader ESPN, and other prestigious sports affiliations.

On Saturday, August 20, 2011, 1450 ESPN unveils an aggressive 2011 New Orleans Saints football lineup beginning at 5:00 p.m. with the New Orleans Saints “Countdown to Kickoff Show,” at 7:00 p.m. it’s “New Orleans Saints versus Houston Texans” football, followed-by “The Locker Room and Point After” shows.

The new 1450 ESPN Pensacola will present ESPN Radio Network’s Monday through Friday lineup; Mike and Mike in the Morning 5:00a.m.to 9:00 a.m., with hosts Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic, Colin Cowert’s The Herd Show 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and The Scott Van Pelt Show 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.

Paul Finebaum, the leading authority in Southern sports for over 20 years, will be heard Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Finebaum’s work has earned him over 250 national and regional sports writing awards, five consecutive Associated Press Awards for “Best Sports Show” and four Alabama “Best Sports Anchor” awards. In addition, 1450 ESPN will broadcast a “Sports Break” every 15 minutes, presenting local sports news and information, including updated weather forecast and conditions.

Chris Bryan, 1450 ESPN director of operations, says,” When we designed this format, the ‘sports enthusiast’ was the main focus and driving force behind our intentions. Sports radio is all about the environment, not just broadcasting a specific event or game. We intend to deliver a complete sports package including; pregame, live game action, and postgame coverage. Our listeners can expect full coverage of NFL, college and local high school sports action.”

Bryan added, “This fall 1450 ESPN will offer a variety of Alabama, Auburn, Florida, FSU, and LSU sports shows, including live LSU Tigers football and the Les Miles Show, Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.”
