Reeves named mayoral fellow

Pensacola Mayor D. C. Reeves has been named a 2023 MICD Just City Mayoral Fellow, a cohort of eight mayors who will spend a semester digging deep into opportunities to promote justice in the built environment of their cities. The Fellowship will be under the leadership of Professor Toni L. Griffin of the Just City Lab at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

MICD stands for Mayors’ Institute on City Design.

The 2023 cohort consists of Albany, NY Mayor Kathy Sheehan; Albuquerque, NM Mayor Tim Keller; Arlington, TX Mayor Jim Ross; Kansas City, MO Mayor Quinton Lucas; Monroe, LA Mayor Friday Ellis; Pensacola, FL Mayor D.C. Reeves; Santa Fe, NM Mayor Alan Webber; and St. Louis, MO Mayor Tishaura O. Jones.

The program will follow a hybrid model over Spring 2023, giving mayors the chance to examine their city’s needs and opportunities with the help of top justice-focused experts in the allied design fields. The program focuses on equipping mayors with key strategies for creating lasting, transformational impacts from new federal funding streams.
