Reeves: No word from Truth for Youth

On WCOA this morning, Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves said he hasn’t heard from Rev. John Powell, the Truth for Youth founder, on whether he received the loan necessary to stave off an auction for his property on the corner of Belmont and Devilliers streets.

“Basically where we sit now, we are going to see that property go to auction on March 22nd at 11 a.m.,” said the mayor. “The last conversation I had with Reverend Powell is that perhaps he had a bridge loan in order that he would hear something about as of yesterday. Where it sits with the city is I have the authority, up to $1.5 million, to make a deal for that property.”
