City Councilwoman Jewel Cannada-Wynn will host a rental housing initiative meeting 5:30 p.m. Thursday Aug. 16, in the Vince Whibbs Conference room located on the 1st floor of City Hall.
This meeting will allow for discussion of the need for safe, decent and well maintained residential rental property within the City. Input regarding the development of a program to proactively identify blighted, deteriorated and substandard rental property and to ensure the rehabilitation or elimination of such housing that does not meet minimal standards is desired. Standards should address life, health and safety issues as well as identifying deferred or inadequate maintenance.
