Rock the Legion

Five of this area’s teenage garage bands will be showcasing their talents at the 1^st Annual Rock the Legion Concert on June 2, 2012 from 3:30-11p.m. at the American Legion Post 33. Tickets are $5 pre-event and $7 at the door. Soft drinks, snacks, t-shirts and other items will be offered for sale. Performances will feature both cover and original songs. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Andrew Dill Memorial a local PHS/IB teen who passed away unexpectedly in September.

Participating bands include students from most of the area high schools and are known by Said Simple, The Co-Pilots, Bohemia, Dylan Dalrymple and Band, and Lucas Westfall. The genres fall between Southern rock and blues. Most of the bands’ influences are of the John Mayer/Black Keys varieties and geared toward the young adult demographic. However, music buffs of all ages will find most of the performances entertaining and enjoyable.
