Remaining improvements will include the installation of shade structures and benches. The city plans to host a grand opening upon the project’s completion, anticipated in early summer 2024.

“I am very excited to be apart of the completion of this project,” Parks and Recreation Director Ben Heistein said. “These improvements will significantly enhance visitor’s experience and will be durable enough to withstand enjoyment by tennis players for many years to come.”

The approximately $3.86 million project was funded by a variety of City of Pensacola Local Option Sales Tax funds, along with a $1.3 million contribution from Escambia County.

Owned and operated by the City of Pensacola, Roger Scott Tennis Center is Northwest Florida’s largest tennis facility, featuring 18 hard courts and 10 clay courts.
