Rubio continues lead in US Senate race

Marco “Hot Dog” Rubio packed the tiny Dog House Deli in downtown Pensacola yesterday as local Republicans flocked to see their Senate candidate reach out to the common man. He did get some good news from the latest Quinnipiac University poll.

The poll surveyed 1,151 likely Florida voters, from September 23-28. Rubio (46 percent) holds a solid 13-point lead over independent Gov. Charlie Crist (33 percent). Democrat U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek is a distant third at 18 percent.

Read more on the poll.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel asks Can Meek make a case to turnaround his campaign? Al Gore and Pres. Bill Clinton have campaigned for him. His campaign ads have been directed towards convincing Democrats to stay with him and not vote for Crist. Still his numbers continue to fall.
