Rubio swings through Pensacola

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio made a campaign stop in Pensacola this afternoon and asked for his supporters to help get out the vote tomorrow. Rubio faces south Florida developer Carlos Beruff in the GOP primary.

“It’s great to have all these supporter, but it doesn’t count if they aren’t voters,” he told the crowd.

The stop at Seville Quarter was one for three in day that has included Fort Myers, Panama City and Pensacola. He will finish up in Miami tonight.

After being introduced by Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan and Florida Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez Cantera, Rubio wasted no time going after his likely Democratic opponent in November, Congress Patrick Murphy for his misstating his education and business background on his resume.

Rubio said the Murphy had been rated one of the least effective members of Congress. He said, “Considering how ineffective people believe Congress has been that’s saying a lot.”

Much of his speech mirrored those he gave on the presidential trail. Rubio talked about the need to get the nation back on track.

He said, “If we follow the track of President Obama, Hillary Clinton and Patrick Murphy, we will be the first to leave the next generation worse off than themselves.”
