The debate between Marco Rubio, Charlie Crist and Kendrick Meek was heated. Crist and Meek went after Rubio, the clear front-runner in the race for U.S. Senate. Rubio handled it well, stayed on message (rein in spending, balance budget) and made no major mistakes. Crist and Meek fought over the moderate, independent and Democratic votes -which they are splitting right now.
The Rubio base appears solid. Either Meek or Crist would have to drop out of the race for anyone of them to beat Rubio. One-on-one race vs. Rubio would even then be an uphill fight this close to the election day.
