The Salvation Army in Pensacola is pleased to welcome new leaders, Captains Stephan and Ashlee Wildish. They assumed their position on June 26, 2022 and have quickly settled into their new surroundings and are looking forward to getting to know the community and moving forward the ministry of The Salvation Army.
Salvation Army Officers are periodically transferred to different locations, typically every 3-5 years. The Captains’ Wildish are enthusiastic and dynamic leaders and come to Pensacola from their previous appointment in Leon County, where for the last 2 years they were responsible for the programs and services of The Salvation Army of Tallahassee.
Captains Wildish come from a long history with The Salvation Army. Both are children of Salvation Army Officer parents and have grown up in the ministry of the Army. They have been Salvation Army Officers (Pastors) for 12 years and have served in various communities in Virginia, Maryland, and Florida. They bring with them 3 children and make it a point to involve their children in their ministry as well as being good citizens of their community. They both believe that together they can make change for good in their community through the ministry and work of The Salvation Army.
“It has been exciting to meet the people of Pensacola and discover the many opportunities for ministry here,” said Captain Ashlee Wildish. “We look forward to meeting the needs of this community and ‘Doing The Most Good’ alongside the staff, volunteers and supporters of The Salvation Army.”
The couple is responsible for all church programs and social services at The Salvation Army. It includes the Community Center, Social Services, Shelter, and providing Emergency Disaster Services and Spiritual Care to the community when needed.
“Many people don’t realize that The Salvation Army is a church,” said Captain Ashlee Wildish. “We invite everyone to join us for Worship each Sunday at 11:00 AM, at The Salvation Army, located at 1501 N. Q Street, here in Pensacola. We look forward to meeting you soon!”
