Santa Rosa forms YP group

The Santa Rosa Young Professionals (SYRP) is a new organization designed to engage up-and-coming leaders, 21 years of age or older who live or work in the Santa Rosa area. Members are given opportunities for professional development through networking and social interaction among young professionals, while emphasizing community involvement to make a positive impact on Santa Rosa County. Members are also able to participate in multiple opportunities including: community service, social functions, networking activities and an annual banquet.

SRYP President, Jayer Williamson of Williamson Electric in Milton, Fla. founded the organization in January 2009 to give back to his community. “We are extremely excited about embarking on something new for Santa Rosa County, and most importantly, making a positive impact on the community we love,” stated Williamson.

Recently elected founding board members include: Jayer Williamson (President), Daniel Saba (Vice President), Drew Hardgrave (President-Elect), Kendra Dezarn (Secretary), Betsy Soles (Civic Committee), Linsey Williamson (Social/Networking), John Hays (Membership), Sabrina McLaughlin (Marketing), Marianne Back (Special Interest), Brooke Volland (Government Affairs), Cinnamon Holderman, Regina McKinley, Shannon Ogletree, Wesley Meiss and Stephanie Saylor.

“The group will be teaming up with non-profits to participate in service projects around Santa Rosa County. We’re going to get our hands dirty and earn the trust of our community by working for its best interest,” noted Williamson.

The membership fee for SRYP is $75 per year and includes: a SYRP T-shirt, online membership directory, attendance at SRYP sponsored events at no cost or a reduced rate and much more. The organization will be hosting two events in April. The first event will be a Membership Drive Thursday, April 9 at 6pm at Oops Alley in Pace. Admission is free to both current and prospective members, and includes appetizers and door prizes.

SRYP’s official Kick-Off Celebration will be held on Friday, April 24 at Cocodries on Navarre Beach starting at 6pm and will include networking, door prizes, free appetizers and live music.
