Santa Rosa School District gets vo-tech grant

The Florida Department of Education awarded over $24 million through the Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant Program (Workforce CAP). This investment brings the total funding for workforce education initiatives under Workforce CAP to nearly $190 million since its inception in 2023.

“Under Governor Ron DeSantis’ steadfast leadership, Florida continues to prioritize transformative investments in career and technical education,” said Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz, Jr. “This funding is expanding important workforce education programs in high-demand industries, creating new opportunities for students across Florida.”

Workforce CAP funding supports the creation and expansion of workforce development programs across the state, offering students in high school and post-secondary education programs hands-on training in high-demand industries.

The Workforce CAP Grant Program is instrumental in establishing and expanding CTE programs that lead to industry-recognized certifications on the CAPE Industry Certification Funding List. These funds ensure that students across Florida have access to the tools, resources and training necessary to thrive in emerging industries and meet the demands of Florida’s growing economy.
