Save the Ella Jordan House

WineAndCheese
Locals have been working to save and restore the Ella Jordan House, which was built around 1890. It is located at the corner of LaRua and C streets. Mrs. Ella L. Jordan founded the City of Pensacola’s Federation of Colored Women’s Clubs, Inc.

The house was once a neighborhood gathering spot for parties, weddings, meetings and more for the black community in Pensacola.

The Community Saving the “Ella L. Jordan Home” is working with the Pensacola community and the Mother Wit Institute, Inc., to raise funds for its restoration. About $80,000 is needed to do the structural and roofing work to keep the house from being torn down.

On Monday, May 4 from 5-7 p.m., a wine and cheese event for the Save the Ella Jordan House Campaign will held at the Voices of Pensacola Multicultural Resource Center, located across from Seville Quarter. Please drop by.
