SBA Disaster Loan deadline July 21

The U.S. Small Business Administration reminds homeowners, renters, businesses and non-profit organizations in Florida of the deadline to submit disaster loan applications for damages caused by the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding from April 28 through May 6, 2014. The deadline to apply for a physical damage disaster loan has been extended to July 21, 2014.

“Currently, 860 disaster loans have been approved in the amount of $35,845,300 for affected survivors,” said Frank Skaggs, director of SBA’s Field Operations Center East in Atlanta. “I encourage anyone who has not submitted an SBA disaster loan application to do so as quickly as possible.”

SBA’s Disaster Loan Outreach Center and Business Recovery Center in Pensacola will close permanently at close of business on Friday, July 11. The Center locations and hours of operation are as follows:

Low-interest disaster loans are available in the counties of Escambia, Jackson, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton; and for Economic injury only the contiguous counties of Bay, Calhoun, Gadsen, Holmes, Liberty and Washington in Florida; Baldwin, Covington, Escambia, Geneva and Houston in of Alabama; and Seminole in Georgia.

To be considered for all forms of disaster assistance, call the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at 800-621-FEMA (3362), (TTY) 800-462-7585 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing and register.

Survivors may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.

Disaster loan information and application forms may also be obtained by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing) or by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Loan applications can be downloaded from www.sba.gov/disaster.
