‘Mobile Assistance Center’ to Help Local Businesses with Recovery, Financial Support

In response to the approval of the Federal Individual Assistance Disaster Declaration for Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, the Florida Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of West Florida, along with several area chambers of commerce, will announce the opening of the SBDC Mobile Assistance Center on Monday, May 12, at 10 a.m., at the Greater Pensacola Chamber for local-area business affected by the recent severe storm and flooding events.

This announcement also coincides with National Small Business Week (May 12-16) in which small businesses are recognized for their role in driving innovation and increasing our global competitiveness, not to mention the creation of about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.

Starting Monday, representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be located at the mobile assistance center to answer any questions regarding disaster loans and federal assistance. The center will be equipped with laptops, printers, satellite communication, supplies and more to assist businesses with their recovery.
