Scapecchi files for Sheriff

Larry Scapecchi, a 25 year law enforcement veteran, has filed to run for Escambia County Sheriff. He will be running as a Democrat.

Scapecchi retired in Jan. 2007 as a Lieutenant with the ESCO. Over his 25 years, he was the Officer in Charge (OIC) of Narcotics, OIC of Precinct 2 Uniform Patrol Division and OIC of Property Investigations North.

He began in law enforcement career as a corrections officer and rose through the ranks as a deputy, sergeant and lieutenant.

Scapecchi serves as president of the Myrtle Grove Youth Association Foundation – a position he has held for 6 years. He’s married and has two sons. He’s a member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.

Scapecchi will face Samuel Lucas in the Democratic primary.
