School growth continues on west side of Escambia County

Every October the Escambia County School District reports its student enrollment for its public schools, special needs facilities and charter schools. The enrollment for its regular schools is down slightly– 42 student drop.

Of the 31 elementary schools, the top four with the most students are Helen Caro (984), Beulah (974), Lipscomb (940)and Blue Angels (930)—all on the west side of the district. The most growth is also on the west side – Pleasant Grove (96), Blue Angels (86) and Oakcrest (82).

Of the nine middle schools, only Warrington (44) and Bellview (34) had increases.  To middle schools have enrollment above 1,000 students: Bellview 1,031 and Ferry Pass 1,003.

Of the seven high schools, Tate High School is the largest with 2,138 students, 144 more than last year. Pensacola High lost 47 students dropping from 1,490 to 1,443
