Schroeder out, Scruggs in

Press Release: Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce announces former business executive, Terry Scruggs, as interim vice president of tourism. Ed Schroeder, former vice president of tourism was placed on administrative leave last week, and resigned this morning from the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.

“We are prepared to conduct a national search for a highly successful, results-oriented tourism professional in conjunction with the Escambia County Tourism Development Council, Escambia County Board of Commissioners and tourism stakeholders,” said Hizer. “In the meantime, I am confident Scruggs’ extensive management and marketing experience will further assist our skilled tourism promotional staff in implementing the marketing plan that is already in place.”

Scruggs, 48-year Pensacola resident, has a track record of successful marketing and management execution. Formerly, he served as vice president of marketing and sales for Instrument Control Service, Inc., where he was a member of the team for twenty years. Additionally, Scruggs worked with Monsanto Company, holding positions in marketing, operations management and business planning.

Scruggs graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, and Florida State University with a master’s in Business Management.
