SCI adds four accomplished women to help advance worthwhile mission

Studer Community Institute is proud to announce four additions to their Board of Directors. Dr. Katie Crawford, Shannon Libbert, Sena Maddison, and Linda “Sonshine” Moorer have joined the Pensacola area non-profit.

SCI is designed to make our community a better place to live with a focus on Building Brains, Building Jobs, and Building Community. Core programs include initiatives to inform, equip, and support parents on the pivotal importance of early brain development, guidance and advice to bolster entrepreneurs’ ability to succeed and grow, and skills training opportunities for business leaders and organizations.

All four women bring a background and expertise to help enhance SCI’s mission.

Dr. Katie Crawford is a local pediatrician currently practicing at Ascension Sacred Heart Pediatric Care Center in Gulf Breeze. “I am excited to get more involved in our amazing local community to help promote literacy and early brain development,” said Crawford.

Shannon Libbert brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare and human resources. She currently serves as Senior Partner and US Healthcare Leader at Kingsley Gate, a global executive search firm. Additionally, she is an Advisor to Healthcare Plus Solutions Group.

Sena Maddison is a veteran of media and marketing, making an impact in many different roles. She is currently Director of Communications for Community Health Northwest Florida, as well as Executive Producer and co-host of “Real News with Rick Outzen” on News talk 1370 WCOA Pensacola.

Linda “Sonshine” Moorer, with a thriving 35-year career in the entertainment industry, is dedicating her journey to bringing stories to life. “Beyond the glitz and glamour, my true passion lies in making a tangible difference in the community,” said Moorer. “Whether on screen or off, I am committed to leaving an indelible mark that extends far beyond entertainment, aiming to create a positive impact and lasting change.”

I’m thrilled to have several new board members joining us here at SCI,” said SCI Executive Director Katie Ballard. “Each of them brings great enthusiasm for the work we are doing in the community and exciting ideas on how we can evolve and grow.”

The additions complement existing board members Kathy Sandstrom (Chair), Will Dunaway, Van Masker, Mort O’Sullivan III, Joy Powell, Quint Studer, Bert Thornton, and Bruce Watson.
