Scott confirms appointment of Sheriff Morgan

Governor-Elect Rick Scott is sending a seasoned team of law enforcement, corrections and public safety professionals on a fact-finding mission to help him identify ways to reduce the size of government, ensure safer neighborhoods across Florida and transform the manner in which we reduce crime, provide rehabilitation services and incarcerate criminals.

Scott has tasked the team with identifying innovative ideas from the private sector, success stories from other states, cost-saving opportunities and legislative priorities that will assist him as he prepares to officially take office in January.

With Scott’s inauguration quickly approaching, the Governor-elect said he was pleased to have such a committed team from across the law enforcement, corrections and legal communities working together to identify opportunities to make the state a safer place for all Florida families.
